Terms of service

These Terms govern your use of the benudge mobile app and related services ("Service") provided by [Company name] Pte. Ltd. (UEN [pending]), a company incorporated in Singapore ("benudge", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account on your own. Younger users may participate as members of a household added by a verified parent or guardian.

2. Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account, for keeping your sign-in credentials safe, and for the accuracy of information you provide. You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account or via the deletion request page.

3. Subscriptions

benudge offers paid subscriptions ("Plus", "Family", "Pro") via in-app purchase. The current price is shown in-app at the point of purchase.

• Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled.
• A 7-day free trial is offered to new subscribers; the trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends.
• Cancellation must be made through your App Store or Google Play account at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Refunds are governed by Apple / Google's policies. We will assist with refund requests where required by law.

Launch offer. The first 1,000 households to create a benudge household get Plus free for 3 months from the day the household is created. The offer is counted per household (a member who joins an existing household does not use a place), is not transferable, and has no cash value. When it ends the household moves to the plan it has chosen, or to Base features if it has not subscribed; nothing is charged unless you subscribe.

Beacon proximity is included in Plus and Family and is an optional paid add-on on Base. Beacon kits are optional hardware sold separately through our checkout; there is no free kit. Cancelling your benudge subscription cancels the beacon add-on automatically. Beacon hardware is shipped to addresses in the United States only at launch.

4. Acceptable use

You may not:

• Use the Service to harass others, post unlawful content, or violate any applicable law.
• Reverse engineer or attempt to bypass technical protections (Bluetooth beacon attestation, rate limits, IAP receipt validation).
• Attempt to access another household's data without authorisation.
• Use the Service to build a competing product.

We may suspend accounts that materially violate these Terms.

5. AI features

benudge uses third-party AI (Anthropic Claude, under a zero-data-retention agreement; your data is not used to train models) to:

• transcribe your voice during onboarding;
• read appliance display panels;
• classify garments and verify chore completion.

AI outputs are best-effort and may be wrong. benudge will not award or deduct points based solely on AI when its confidence is low. You can disable AI verification for any chore.

6. Intellectual property

The app, the brand, and the chore templates are owned by [Company name] Pte. Ltd. You retain ownership of content you create (photo, voice, household name) and grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and process it solely to operate the Service.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent allowed by law, benudge disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, benudge's aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the greater of (a) US$100 or (b) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.

9. Termination

We may terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms. You may terminate at any time by deleting your account. Provisions intended to survive termination (IP, disclaimers, liability, governing law) will do so.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Disputes are subject to the courts of Singapore, except where mandatory consumer protections require otherwise in your home jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms removes rights that mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you (including, where it applies, UK, EU and US state consumer law).

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes are notified in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
