How do I invite my partner?
Open benudge, tap Household, then Invite. Your partner gets one link and one tap to join. One subscription covers both seats. They see the shared board, calendar and lists, never your private notes.
What does my partner see?
The shared calendar, chores, lists, notes, the Today board and points. Your Debrief text, Energy, health data, unshared interests and your work, personal and health tasks are private to you and encrypted with your own key. Your partner cannot see them.
How does the free trial work?
Every new household can start a 7-day free trial of Plus at the end of setup, through the App Store or Google Play (yearly is pre-selected; monthly is one tap away). We remind you two days before it ends. If you do nothing, Plus renews at the plan you picked: $59.99 a year or $6.99 a month. Prefer Base at $2.99? Choose it before the trial ends, or cancel in the App Store or Google Play. Tap Not now and you still get 7 days of Plus with nothing to pay. Base is never charged automatically after a Plus trial. Founding households (the first 1,000 homes) can claim 3 months of Plus free instead. See the founding-household question below.
How do I cancel or change plan?
In the App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Upgrades apply straight away. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current period. Cancelling the app subscription also cancels the beacon plan.
Do I need beacons?
No. Benudge works fully without hardware. Beacons are an optional add-on for households that want a chore to start when you walk up to the washer. Proximity works on Android now; iPhone is coming soon, and the free QR scan works on both. We do not sell the beacons; the app lists tested models on Amazon. Base households can add the beacon plan for $2.99 a month; it is included in Plus and Full House.
How does the founding-household offer work?
The first 1,000 households can claim 3 months of Plus free. It is counted per household, not per user: your partner joining does not use a place. Claim it in the app at the end of setup, or later in More, then Plan. We give your household a one-time App Store or Google Play code and open the store with it filled in. Redeeming it starts a yearly Plus subscription with the first 3 months free; it then renews at $59.99 a year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the free period ends. We remind you two days before. Cancel, or switch to Base or Full House, any time in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions.
Where do I buy beacons or stickers?
From the recommended vendors on Amazon listed in the app (More, then Beacons and stickers). We don't make, sell or ship hardware, so availability and delivery depend on the vendor in your country. Any beacon on our tested list pairs in the app; QR codes can also be printed at home for free.
Is Energy a health feature?
No. Energy is a plain-language estimate from sleep, yesterday's load, today's calendar and a one-tap self-report. It is not a diagnosis. It never affects points or the leaderboard and your partner never sees it. On iPhone it reads last night's sleep from Apple Health if you allow it; only the daily total leaves the phone. Steps and exercise minutes are counted only toward a workout goal you add, and only if you allow it. Android uses manual sleep entry in V1.0.
What happens to my chore photos?
Photos are graded by Anthropic Claude under a zero-data-retention agreement and deleted within 30 days. Fail reverses the points with a visible reversal entry; nothing is silently rewritten. You can retake the photo or turn grading off per chore. Grading is a Plus feature.
Is my voice recorded?
Speech is recognised on your phone. Audio is not stored. A cloud fallback is used only when on-device recognition is unavailable or low-confidence, and it stores nothing. Transcripts are kept 90 days unless you choose to keep them.
I snoozed twice. What happens?
The chore is offered to your partner at 1.2× points. If they take it, they earn the points and you earn nothing for that chore. Nobody gets a message that blames anyone.
Does benudge work on Apple Watch?
Yes, through notifications. Nudges arrive on your Apple Watch with Start, Snooze or Hand to partner on the wrist, Done or Tonight for action items, Record now for the Debrief and a ❤ back for love-notes. There is no separate Watch app in V1.0.
What is life admin?
Tasks beyond chores: bills, renewals, appointments and paperwork (shared with the household), plus work, personal and health tasks that stay private to you unless you share them. Bills are nudged the morning after pay day with one tap to the biller. Benudge never pays and never stores an account number; amounts are plain notes. Available on every plan.
Is there a web version?
A web portal is in beta at benudge.io/app. Sign in with the email and password you use in the app to see your Today board, your life admin list and a text capture box. The phone app remains the full product; the portal has no voice, photos, Debrief or billing yet.
What does benudge remember about me, and can I see it?
Yes. Settings, What benudge remembers, lists the durable facts benudge keeps from your captures, Debriefs and the daily check-in. Each one has a share toggle and a forget button. Nothing is shared with your partner unless you choose. You can also export all your data from Settings, Account.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile, Account, Delete account. Or use the form at benudge.io/delete-account. In-app deletion is immediate; web requests are processed within 30 days. Your encryption keys are destroyed, so your private data is unreadable from that moment. Export your data first from Settings, Account, Export my data.
